A FAIRWAY TO GROW
This program is unique to the LPGA UYGP. This program travels to gym classes, after-school programs, summer camps and other agency programs that can’t provide transportation to our regularly scheduled golf classes. The program provides at-risk youth a chance to learn about golf in a fun environment, while building the self-esteem and self-confidence of the junior. Usually there is a two-hour time commitment.
GOLF CLASS VOLUNTEERS
There are four main sessions in the LPGA UYGP golf year – Spring, Summer, Fall and Winter. Volunteers are needed to help maintain a high level of integrity and safety for our junior golfers. Volunteer positions include instructor positions, site coordinator positions and mentors
OFFICE ASSISTANTS
The LPGA UYGP depends on special people to help complete various administrative projects. Volunteers are needed to help make phone calls, provide assistance in large mailings, aid in getting fundraising packets together and help prepare materials for golf classes. Volunteers are needed year round and can be scheduled at convenient times for the volunteer.
SATURDAY PRO-AM
The Seventh Annual LPGA Urban Youth Golf Pro-Am is a single say golf event. Golf participants compete in a five-player scramble with an LPGA professional on Saturday June 8, 2002 McDonald’s LPGA Championship. The LPGA Urban Youth Golf Pro-Am is played at the Nemours Course of the DuPont Country Club. All participants receive VIP parking with shuttle service to the McDonald’s LPGA Championship, breakfast, luncheon, awards and gifts.
The LPGA Urban Youth Golf Program prides itself on holding one of the most prestigious pro-am events in the state of Delaware. Junior and Adult Volunteers are needed to successfully execute such an event. Volunteer positions include registration table, mulligan sales, raffle ticket sales, parking/traffic flow, bag drop, bag shuttle, cart staging area, silent auction, volunteer sign in table, refreshments, driving range supervisor, cart return, bag removal from cart, and clean up. Volunteers are needed at various times throughout the day.
TUESDAY PUTTING EVENT
Volunteers are needed for our Tuesday Putting Event. Volunteer activities include registration, set-up/break-down, gift distribution and marshals. Volunteers are needed on Tuesday, June 4 from 7am until 4pm. Volunteer opportunities are available in 2-3 hour increments.
WEDNESDAY PUTTING EVENT
Volunteers are needed for our Wednesday Putting Event. Volunteer activities include registration, set-up/break-down, gift distribution and marshals. Volunteers are needed on Wednesday, June 5 from 7am until 4pm. Volunteer opportunities are available in 2-3 hour increments.
WOMEN’S AMATEUR TOURNAMENT
The LPGA Urban Youth Golf Women’s Tournament is a single day golf event. Golf participants compete in a four player scramble on Friday June 7 during the McDonald’s LPGA Championship. The Third Annual LPGA Urban Youth Women’s Amateur Tournament is played at the Nemours Course of the DuPont Country Club. Participants receive VIP parking with shuttle service to the McDonald’s LPGA Championship, breakfast, luncheon, awards and gifts.
Volunteers are needed for a variety of activities during our annual Women’s Tournament, June 7, 2002. Junior and Adult volunteers are needed to ensure continued success of the event. Volunteers will be scheduled with activities such as Volunteer Hospitality, Gift Distribution, Registration, Parking Control, Bag Drop, Bag Shuttle, Cart Staging, Silent Auction, Driving Range Supervisor, Cart Return, Set up, Clean up and Junior Caddie Supervisors. Volunteers are needed at various times throughout the day.
