Golf Class Volunteers

 

Job Title

 

VOLUNTEER INSTRUCTOR

  

Volunteers are needed to help instruct golf classes once a week for eight weeks during the summer.  Prior golf teaching experience is not necessary, however teaching experience is preferred.  Training sessions are scheduled in the spring.

 

Job Description

 

Assist the lead golf instructor in teaching life skills, games and golf once a week for eight weeks

Help bring a smile to the lives of the children

 

Location

 

Varies, depends upon the location where volunteer chooses to teach

Time Commitment

 

One hour, once a week for eight weeks. Classes are held from June 17 through August 14

Others Involved

 

One other LPGA UYGP Instructor and between 15 to 20 junior golfers between the ages of 7-17.

Skills Required

 

Ability to communicate well with others. Good organizational skills a plus. MUST be able to work well with children and have no criminal record.  A background check is completed on all volunteers, instructors, and staff involved in the LPGA UYGP.

 

Training

 

Training takes place throughout the year. Currently three classes are scheduled, March 16th, April 13th, and June 6th.  Please contact the administrative office to register for the trainings.  IT IS MANDATORY FOR FIRST YEAR VOLUNTEER INSTRUCTORS TO ATTEND AT LEAST TWO OF THESE TRAININGS.

Job Title

 

SITE COORDINATOR

  

Volunteers are needed to help the instructors keep track of administrative details during class time.

 

Job Description

 

Distribute and collect all junior golfers name tags

Take attendance and mark in attendance sheets

Help instructors track juniors attendance and aid in distribution of golf clubs, golf shirts and snacks if applicable.

Attend to minor emergencies such as taking children to the bathroom, band aids, etc.

Write any class needs in the program log (ie., equipment or supplies needed)

 

Location
